Cracking Up Mosaics is a small, family-run business based in Queensland, Australia. What started as a passion for the art of mosaic has grown into a dedicated online store supplying tiles, glass, beads, and mosaic materials to artists and home decorators across the country — alongside a custom mosaic service and hands-on workshops for those who want to learn the craft themselves.

Our Story

Mosaic is one of the oldest art forms in the world — and one of the most satisfying. There is something deeply rewarding about taking fragments of ceramic, glass, or stone and assembling them into something whole, something beautiful. That feeling is at the heart of everything we do.

We are a family business, and that shapes how we work. Every order is packed with care. Every customer question is answered by someone who genuinely knows the materials. We are not a warehouse operation — we are makers ourselves, and we bring that perspective to every part of the business. We aim to ship our orders as soon as possible but due to our small scale business, we ask for your patience while we pack and post your goodies.

What We Offer

Mosaic Supplies

Our online store carries a curated range of ceramic tiles, glass tiles, beads, and Pâte de Verre — selected for quality and suitability for mosaic work. We know we aren’t the cheapest but there’s a very good reason. We source our quality products direct from suppliers in Europe and while some of our accents and cheaper smaller items are sourced from China, we pride ourselves on stocking quality glass and ceramic products that can’t just be purchased from discount factories. Whether you are a seasoned artist or just starting out, you will find materials here that are worth working with.

Custom Mosaics

Have a space that needs something made specifically for it? We create custom mosaics to order — from house numbers and garden features to large-scale decorative pieces. Each commission is handled personally, from the initial design conversation through to the finished work. Learn more about custom orders.

Workshops
